Past, present and future met at Millburn House on Thursday (May 8th) when Richard Demarco and Terry Newman of the Demarco European Foundation called in to discuss arrangements for Richard's exhibition on Lermontov's Scottish places, opening in Moscow at the State Library for Foreign Literature on June 22nd 2014.

Lermontov, one of Russia's greatest Romantic poets and artists, was a Learmonth by descent. Moffat will be celebrating the 200th anniversary of his birth at a conference here in October.

Richard plans a pilgrim road from a Learmont castle on Fife Ness to Ercildoune, present-day Earlston, in the Borders where Thomas the Rhymer, Earl of Learmonth http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_the_Rhymer met the Fairy Queen and thence to Abbotsford, home of Sir Walter Scott.
